This summer, let interpreters from Parks Canada inspire and fascinate you as you experience all that the region has to offer! 

Discover and explore the tide-pools and rainforest. Feel a fuzzy sea otter pelt. Listen to stories that are older than our ancient trees. See the land and water from a different perspective as you immerse yourself in the cultural and natural treasures of the Pacific Rim. 

NOTE: Public programs are supported through the purchase of a national park entry pass. Programs are presented in English, with special programming available in French.

The Wild Pacific Trail naturalists and other local partner organizations look forward to meeting you for walks and events at their Discovery Tent overlooking Amphitrite Lighthouse on the lighthouse Loop Trail section.

The Wild Pacific Trail is a unique outdoor classroom that offers incredible opportunities to connect people to nature. Their seasonal Discovery Tent at the lighthouse offers revolving topics for all ages.

Easy to walk, one-hour programs aim to engage both visitors and local communities. Topics range from natural to cultural history. 

Learning opportunities are offered most days of the week from June until September. Stay tuned for more details - full schedule of events coming soon!

Why do wolves howl? What do they eat? Take a walk on the wild side! Learn about how to keep our wolves wild! 

Often cast as villains in popular stories, wolves have long been misunderstood. These sacred creatures, roam the rugged shores and forests of the Pacific coast and hold a deep and complex role in the ecosystems they call home.

Join us for a one-hour guided walk as we explore the lives of these elusive predators—how they hunt, swim, and thrive at the intersection of land and sea. Through stories of culture, ecology, and conservation, we’ll trace the shifting human perspectives of wolves: from feared and hunted to respected and protected

No registration is required. Event is by donation.

Join Tourism Tofino for our weekly beach clean-up called "Washed Up Wednesdays." 

This is a free, drop-in event to help collect and record beach debris. Gloves and buckets are provided. Follow the main path from the parking lot to the beach where you’ll find us at the Tourism Tofino tent.

Participants can enter to win a complimentary 3-night stay for two at the award-winning Wickaninnish Inn. Experience rugged coastal beauty, old-growth rainforest, fresh local cuisine and expansive views of the ocean and of Chesterman Beach. Subject to availability and conditions.

The draw will take place at the end of the summer. One participant per party is eligible and must be the age of majority (19 years old).

We will be at different a different beach each Wednesday.

The Tofino Clayoquot Heritage Museum has restarted its historical walking tours for the summer season! 

Every Wednesday

• Tour 1: 11 AM - 12 PM
• Tour 2: 2-3 PM
• $10 per person (cash or card accepted)

Their tours cover Tofino’s historic waterfront and town, and are a great activity for tourists or residents wanting to become more familiar with Tofino.

The museum is also open daily, 10 AM - 4 PM, offering a look into Tofino's history, a great activity, especially on rainy days!

The salmon trail is a joint effort between the Ucluelet Aquarium and Redd Fish Restoration Society to share the joy and knowledge of Pacific Salmon with you! This program runs through July and August, with six fin-tastic stops from Ucluelet to Tofino. Participants have the opportunity to score a Salmon Trail patch by visiting a minimum of three salmon-centered educational stations.

The Salmon Trail is a joint project between Redd Fish Restoration Society and the Ucluelet Aquarium, consisting of five educational stations across Ucluelet and Tofino on different days of the week. The stations aim to educate about the salmon lifecycle and why salmon is so important to coastal communities. 

Find the Salmon Trail every Tuesday at the Lighthouse booth.

Once you have visited each station and completed the activity associated with it, you will receive a prize! 

Join Parks Canada to discover how salmon are the unsung hero, the ultra-elite athlete, whose lives are inextricably tied to all other living things on the west coast.

Though you may not always see them – plankton are out there, and some will become a feast for tiny fish or giant whales.

Come observe a plankton tow & get up close and learn more! Stop by Tofino Resort & Marina - under the red RES tent in the courtyard every Wednesday from 1- 4pm. There will be plankton samples ready for microscope observation. Experience the beauty of these fascinating creatures.

Clayoquot Action presents a Jérémy MATHIEU film

Fish farming is pushing wild salmon to the brink of extinction. The federal government has promised to remove fish farms from BC waters, but now industry is pushing back with false solutions.

Join Clayoquot Action’s fish farm watchdog program as a team of underwater cinematographers investigates an “experimental” fish farm near Tofino. What they find surprises them, and spells potential disaster for wild salmon.

This film looks at the impacts of salmon farming through the eyes of those fighting to protect wild salmon from extinction. Featuring First Nations members SkookumJohn, Keltsmaht First Nation and Joe Martin, Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, and Kwakwabalas - Chief Ernest Alfred, traditional and elected leader of the 'Na̱mg̱is First Nation, as well as scientist and best-selling author Alexandra Morton.

Don’t miss this entertaining, informative and inspiring evening, featuring Tla-o-qui-aht guest speakers and an award-winning local documentary. Everyone welcome!

Why did the cedar tree walk up the hill? Join this free Wild Pacific Trail Society guided walk on the famously storm swept coastline to explore how trees not only survive but potencially live forever.

departs at 10 am every THURSDAY from the Discovery Booth at Amphitrite Lighthouse.

10 am to 12 pm every Thursday.  Discover how black bears survive on the West Coast—and what’s on their menu! Learn how berries, bugs, and beachcombing shape a bear’s seasonal diet. Discover how black bears, berries, and native plants are all connected and find out which plant along the Wild Pacific Trail has an explosive pollination mechanism —its flowers launch pollen into the air when triggered, 800 times that experienced by astronauts during liftoff!

No registration is required.

Come search for the tracks of Bears, Wolves and Cougars, on the beach and in the dunes!
