This summer, let interpreters from Parks Canada inspire and fascinate you as you experience all that the region has to offer! 

Discover and explore the tide-pools and rainforest. Feel a fuzzy sea otter pelt. Listen to stories that are older than our ancient trees. See the land and water from a different perspective as you immerse yourself in the cultural and natural treasures of the Pacific Rim. 

NOTE: Public programs are supported through the purchase of a national park entry pass. Programs are presented in English, with special programming available in French.

The Wild Pacific Trail naturalists and other local partner organizations look forward to meeting you for walks and events at their Discovery Tent overlooking Amphitrite Lighthouse on the lighthouse Loop Trail section.

The Wild Pacific Trail is a unique outdoor classroom that offers incredible opportunities to connect people to nature. Their seasonal Discovery Tent at the lighthouse offers revolving topics for all ages.

Easy to walk, one-hour programs aim to engage both visitors and local communities. Topics range from natural to cultural history. 

Learning opportunities are offered most days of the week from June until September. Stay tuned for more details - full schedule of events coming soon!

The Amphitrite House is open 9am-4pm daily with a variety of exhibits and naturalists!

Question: What impact does the sea have on the rainforest? How do the sea and the land shape one another? Join Raincoast Education Society naturalists to share insight on rotating topics of interest. Bring your curiosity.

Why do wolves howl? What do they eat? Take a walk on the wild side! Learn about how to keep our wolves wild! 

Often cast as villains in popular stories, wolves have long been misunderstood. These sacred creatures, roam the rugged shores and forests of the Pacific coast and hold a deep and complex role in the ecosystems they call home.

Join us for a one-hour guided walk as we explore the lives of these elusive predators—how they hunt, swim, and thrive at the intersection of land and sea. Through stories of culture, ecology, and conservation, we’ll trace the shifting human perspectives of wolves: from feared and hunted to respected and protected

This Tidepools Walk with Ucluelet Aquarium and Wild Pacific Trail Society is a highlight of any visit. With a special guest host September 19th only!

Low tide days: Don’t miss the chance to go tidepool exploring with experts from Ucluelet Aquarium and the WPTS when the tide is low. We’ll go looking for the amazing creatures that call Big Beach home.

High Tide Fridays:Explore creatures and features of the beach. Ask experts your tough ocean questions. Our guided beach walk is above the high-tide line respecting the power of the ocean (No Tidepool exploring if the tides are too high).

Please supervise children carefully and wear sturdy shoes, please no pets.

Meet at the sheltered picnic area at Big Beach.

Discover how black bears survive on the West Coast—and what’s on their menu! With a special guest host from WildSafe BC, learn how berries, bugs, and beachcombing shape a bear’s seasonal diet. Discover how black bears, berries, and native plants are all connected and find out which plant along the Wild Pacific Trail has an explosive pollination mechanism —its flowers launch pollen into the air when triggered, 800 times that experienced by astronauts during liftoff!
