Visit Parks Canada Interpreters at the lighthouse Discovery Tent and enjoy interactive activities with rotating topics to discover, learn, and have fun. Get to know some local whales, test your wildlife knowledge on the trivia wheel, and try to spot a whale spout from shore!. Along the way, you'll learn about the biology, ecology, and conservation of whales and other marine mammals.

No registration is required.

Students from Ucluelet Secondary School are creating a series of projects that celebrate culture, language, health, and well-being. While previous years focused on themes of Truth and Honour, this year's theme, The Way Forward, highlights hope, resilience, and community wellness.

Their work will be showcased alongside the Legacy of Hope Foundation's How to Be an Ally exhibit.

Join Elizabeth George and Family for an evening of remembrance, healing, and community as they honour Survivors of the Residential School System. Survivors, families, friends, and community members are invited to gather for dinner and reflection.

The evening will begin with an opening prayer by Grace M. George and include displays recognizing Survivors through a memorial wall, pins, T-shirts, and a small button blanket. Come show your support and help honour the strength, resilience, and legacy of our Survivors.

Small Town, Big Picture: Tofino is one of 5 courses available within the  West Coast Ambassador Program. This three-hour orientation session delivers the “big picture” of living in Tofino. Learn about local history and basic ecology, cross-cultural understanding, businesses and activities, festivals, and important civic information. This is a great way to get up-to-date local information about living and working in Tofino.

The West Coast Ambassador Program is a joint initiative of the Raincoast Education Society,  Tourism Ucluelet and Tourism Tofino.  The Raincoast Education Society is responsible for course curriculum, registration, and program delivery.

An online workshop for non-Indigenous people to understand settler colonialism, reflect on responsibilities, and build right relationships.

Hosted by Tsimka Martin and Jeanette Sheehy. The online workshop is a welcoming and supportive space for non-Indigenous people aiming to make change, show up well, and work toward right relationship with Indigenous people, communities, and Nations. Together we’ll look at the systems and structures we live within – settler colonialism – and how it functions both structurally (laws etc.) and interpersonally, and the resulting power dynamics and imbalances. Grounded in this awareness, we will talk about settler responsibilities and map existing and potential pathways toward right-relationship.

Indigenous people are more than welcome to attend, knowing we will be discussing the world as it is including descriptions of colonial violence and focusing on the settler responses and feelings that maintain these systems. This workshop is rooted in hope and the possibility of a more loving and just world.

Learn about and honour Indigenous Veterans Day by making beaded poppies with Elizabeth George, a Nuu-chah-nulth artist from Ahousaht First Nation.

Indigenous Veterans Day is observed each year on November 8th. Wearing a beaded poppy is a way to recognize the contributions made by Indigenous members of the military who served in the two world wars and the Korean War and the many who are still serving to this day.
