Old-Growth Forests of Clayoquot Sound

Clayoquot Sound is home to the largest tracts of Old-Growth Coastal Temperate Rainforest on Vancouver Island, and some of the last remaining in the world. These forests represent a rich history of conservation and stewardship, conflict and negotiation, and ever evolving land use planning. Speaker events will feature two, back-to-back 15-minute presentations, followed by a moderated discussion.

Tsimka Martin is a community leader and member of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation. Andy macKinnon is a botanist, professor of forestry, and a councillor in Metchosin BC.

Admission is $5 at the door.
