Outline:
This year's West Coast Knitting Retreat includes a selection of goodies from the region delivered to your home, combined with online learning. There will be an online workshop with UkeeKnits called "Choosing colour for Fibre Projects", plus an instructional video to learn the fibre art of macramé with Sea Woven!
This retreat is intended for knitters with an intermediate or advanced skill level.
Before the Retreat
A package of goods will be delivered to your home. You will receive:
- Tofino Knit Co yarn kit (to complete the Cranberry Holiday stranded hat project)
- Macrame kit (rope and hoop)
- Tofino Soap Co Balm
- Foggy Bean Coffee
- .....and more!
You will also receive a digital package including:
- Cranberry Holiday (stranded colourwork hat) pattern
- A macramé instructional booklet
- Access to the macramé instructional video
Once your package arrives by mail, it’s time to get started:
Cranberry Holiday ~ a stranded colorwork hat pattern
Pour yourself a warm drink, grab your Cranberry Holiday pattern, and gather the required tools (US 4 (3.5mm) 16”/ 40cm circular; US 6 (4mm) 16”/ 40cm circular needle and double pointed needles, or needle size to obtain gauge; cable needle; stitch marker; tapestry needle). Work through the pattern! The November 26th workshop will focus on how to select colours and will also include an opportunity to ask questions and share your project with the group if you wish.
Macramé Plant Hanger
Also you can dig-in and begin to create your macramé plant hanger! First, find a place you can hang your project from, such as a ceiling hook, rolling rack, curtain road, or closet rod. Grab a pair of scissors, the hoop and rope mailed to you, pop open the instructional booklet (pdf) and the pre-recorded macramé video and you’re ready to go! Work through the instructional video, replaying and referencing your instructional booklet as needed, to create a beautiful macramé plant holder!
