Certified by the SKGABC (Sea Kayak Guide Alliance of BC).

This training builds on existing guiding experience and prepares participants to step confidently into more senior roles on overnight trips.

Throughout the course, participants refine and advance key competencies, including:

❖ Advanced expedition planning and leadership
❖ Risk management and dynamic decision-making in rugged environments
❖ Trip logistics, weather interpretation, and route planning
❖ Guest care and group management over multi-day programs
❖ Efficient rescue response and incident management

The AOG Upgrade Course is ideal for guides looking to expand their scope, strengthen leadership skills, and progress along the professional guiding pathway.
