Outline:

Join SKILS for an online course on Sea State. Sea State is the texture of the water. It affects tremendously our enjoyment on the water. It's also a matter of safety. This online course will focus on understanding the different types of waves, paddling in ice, tides, and currents, as well as how to calculate the tides and current times for your area at a given time. This course is customized mostly for paddlers but is a great source of information for all boaters. The tide and current calculations are specific to Canada. 

You will learn: 

1. A better understanding of how the swell and waves are formed and how they affect watercraft. 

2. A better understanding of how to paddle in ice, different types of ice, and the hazards caused by icebergs and glaciers. 

3. A better understanding of tides and currents, their origin, and how they impact watercraft. 

4. And much more... 

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for this course other than the desire to become more knowledgeable about the sea state.
