Rock Gardening for Sea Kayakers with SKILS - June 2026
Outline:
Rock gardening is one of the most dynamic and playful ways to experience the coastal environment by
kayak. This two-day course introduces intermediate paddlers to the techniques, tactics, and mindset
required to paddle confidently around rock features.
Based out of Ucluelet and primarily using Little Beach as our classroom, participants will learn how to read features, maneuver through dynamic water, and build the confidence to play safely in rock zones.
Through progressive skill development and plenty of hands-on time on the water, you’ll come away with the tools to approach rock gardens with awareness, control, and a sense of fun.
Each day will run approximately 09:00–17:00. Final schedules may shift based on tides, swell, and site selection.
