Photojournalism Community Engagement Project - Summer 2022
Outline:
Do you have a story to tell? Now's your chance to tell it with this free photojournalism workshop from Christine Germano.
Germano has collaborated with Indigenous communities since 2000 but is best known for her photojournalism projects that focuses on the voices and images of young people whose futures are influenced by social and environmental issues. The project encourages youth to use photography and writing as a means to express themselves and their community, build self-confidence and empower themselves to be global citizens and mentors.
As part of this community engagement project, Germano will take you on a trail walk in Tofino to help you get inspired to tell a story about what's important to you. The workshop will provide professional guidance from Germano to tell your story with the use of her professional equipment. Results of this project will be featured at the Edge Exhibit of September's Carving on the Edge Festival.
