Legacy North Academy, in partnership with the Tla‑o‑qui‑aht Development Corporation, is proud to host the Pacific Youth Basketball & Wellness Summita three‑day, no‑cost experience designed to help young people build confidence, resilience, leadership, and meaningful connection through sport and wellness.

From August 5–7, youth ages 9–18 will come together in Tofino for an inclusive summit that places a special focus on creating opportunities for First Nations youth, while welcoming young people from all communities and backgrounds.

Thanks to generous support from Canada Basketball’s Unified Assist Program and local partners including Wickaninnish Inn, Tofino Resort + Marina, Creative Salmon, Tofino Bike Co., Jen McLeod Photography, Tofino Sea Kayaking, and many others, there is no cost to attend, removing financial barriers so every young person can participate.

Over three days, participants will take part in:

  • Basketball skill development

  • Mental wellness and resilience workshops

  • Leadership and mentorship activities

  • Community building and positive connection

No basketball experience is required, whether a youth is brand‑new to the sport or already plays competitively, the summit offers a welcoming, encouraging environment where every participant can learn, grow, and have fun.
