Outline:

Cedar Coast Field Station welcomes all folks eager and curious to learn home fermentation, foraging and herbal medicine making though the use of local and native plants and herbs.

Learn through hands-on experience, together making a variety of vegetable lacto-ferments and herbal elixirs. Deepen your relationship with plants and increase your herbal knowledge. Take home new skills, new recipes, and new mother starters for your own home practices. Deepen the cultural and historical background of these healing folk arts and a community of folk herbalists and fermenters.

Participants will leave the course with full hands, sharing culture starters, veggie ferments, and syrups to take home!

The Cedar Coast Field Station is situated on a 45 acre, waterfront property on the southeast shoreline of Vargas Island, in Clayoquot Sound. The site is located approximately 5km northwest of Tofino. A short 15 minute boat shuttle service will be provided at the beginning and end of this course.

Course fee:

$470 - includes workshop, accommodation, meals, & pick up and drop off between Tofino & Vargas Island.
