Grant Writing Workshop -Tofino - February 2019
Outline:
In this half-day workshop, Scott Graham (Social Planning and Research Council of British Columbia) will share strategies and methods for writing successful grants applications and discuss grant and fundraising opportunities for small organizations in rural communities. Workshop participants will gain a better understanding of available grant opportunities, effective grant writing skills, and an increased awareness of fundraising strategies.
Workshop activities will include:
- Reviewing the 7 elements of typical grant applications;
- Small group work on select elements of a typical grant application;
- Review checklist, tips, sources and starting to plan for future grant writing; and
- Group reflections on the challenges and value of grant writing.
Scott Graham, is the Associate Executive Director and Manager of Research, Planning and Consulting at SPARC BC. He specializes in applied qualitative and quantitative research, human development service planning, policy development, capacity building, evaluation, knowledge translation, and is keen to work with people who are committed to evidence-based community planning and developmental processes.
This workshop is being held at the Tofino Community Hall 9am - 1pm. Coffee/tea and a light lunch will be provided. Please bring your laptop!
