You and your group will join Paul Moran foraging and gathering wild food in areas near Tofino and Ucluelet, then enjoying a meal created with the bounty from the day.

FORAGE ALONGSIDE CHEF PAUL MORAN

During the day, follow an ancient tradition carried on for over 10,000 years. Following the ebb and flow of tides, seasons and weather. You will visit the oceans rocky shores or tidal flats when the tide is low.

FROM THE OCEAN’S EDGE TO THE WILD FOREST

You will head towards forest and grasslands as it is high. You can expect to find the best possible wild foods available in Canada, if not the world. Travel by land in Toyota 4×4’s, during which all guests must wear masks and sanitize hands. Wild Origins also offers boat charters, free diving, floatplane, or helicopter travel as an additional service. Focusing on one or two geographical zones or kingdoms during the day.

BY NIGHT WE FEAST

Following foraging, guests enjoy an afternoon break. Chef Paul returns to the kitchen and continues preparing dinner. Feasting commences at a time determined specifically to each outing and season. Wild Origins enjoy keeping some surprises as part of the experience so come with an empty stomach as a plethora of dishes will be served. There is no mountain too high or kitchen too small. For private bookings, Wild Origins will help you custom design your dream adventure.

Inquire by email to see what is in season during your selected dates. Goods included, but not limited to are; wild mushrooms, green-red-brown seaweed’s, sea asparagus, Nordic chives, sea plantain, wild berries, grassy plants, medicinal fungus, gooseneck barnacles, oysters, clams, and more!

Participants must also sign a mandatory waiver prior to departure and notify the organization of any dietary requirements or other concerns.
