Fly-fishing Retreat (women-only) - February 2020

Two-day fly-fishing retreat hosted at the Tofino Resort & Marina. This is a ladies-only event. Discover everything you need to know to fly-fish with confidence including how to tie flies, casting technique, and even where to find the fish!

Outline:

Saturday, February 8th 

10:00am to 1:00pm

General starter information on fly-fishing: rods, reels, line, knots, leader, flies, and everything you need to have a confident start in this journey.

1:00pm to 2:00pm - Lunch (on your own)

2:00pm to 4:00pm

Practice fly-casting OUTSIDE, experiencing that first feel of fly gear.

4:00pm to 6:00pm

We’ll talk about casting and fishing strategy.

6:00pm to 7:00pm - Dinner (on your own)

7:00pm to 9:00pm (optional)

Practice tying flies for the following fishing day.

 

Sunday, February 9th

9:00am to 11:00am

Get equipment and gear ready for fishing

11:00-Noon* (on your own)

Noon to 4:00pm 'ish

LET’S GO FISHING! This will be about fishing strategy, where to find fish, and how to lure them.

*Make sure to prep or order a lunch to go. Pack some snacks and water too.

Registration Details

ONLY 8 spots available (first-come, first-serve)

Where: in-class sessions will take place at the Upper Hatch at Tofino Resort and Marina. There will be complimentary coffee and tea each day.
 

Outdoor practice: RAIN OR SHINE, bring warm layers, rain jacket, and waders if you have some. Boots are a must for the West (wet) Coast.

Drinks, food, and accommodation are not included.

The resort is offering a 10% discount on accommodations for participants at this event.

Everything fly fishing is included: rods reels, fly-tying, line, and flies.

At the end of the day on Sunday, we will be on a river somewhere (Maggie River or Taylor River). Out of town guests can head home from there, no need to come back to Tofino.

Prerequisites:

A deposit of $100 is necessary to guarantee your space.
