This full-day training is designed for teachers, counselors, youth workers and any others who would like to learn more about how to deliver grief education to youth and to learn strategies to support youth through change and loss.

Outline:

Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council and Learning through Loss present this full day workshop on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, led by Shauna Janz (MA). Shauna is a trauma-informed facilitator, educator, and companion in the field of grief and resilience. The workshop goals are to:

  1. Provide an experiential understanding of the “Learning Through Loss” approach to youth grief education and support.
  2. Provide educational concepts and tools to assist professionals in their work supporting youth through difficult times.
  3. Provide the “Learning through Loss” curriculum for the Good Grief Workshop to help others have meaningful and educational conversations with youth about grief. 

The workshop is from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Learning through Loss is a charitable non-profit organization providing grief education and loss support programs to youth and training workshops to youth-serving professionals since 1988.
