Outline:

This two-day Apprentice Interpreter course will teach you all the ins and outs of effective thematic heritage interpretation. You'll learn all the techniques and skills required to effectively communicate with your guests – from crafting inspiring themes to building effective, well-organized interpretive programs.

On Day 1, you will learn about the natural and cultural history of the Tofino area. Topics will include geology, geography, ecology, human history, the ocean and more.

Days 2 and 3 are dedicated to learning the ins and outs of effective thematic heritage interpretation. We’ll cover all the techniques and skills required to effectively communicate with your guests – from crafting inspiring themes to building effective, well-organized interpretive programs.

Prerequisites:

None! This course is for anyone who would like to improve their guiding skills. Whether you are brand new to the Tofino area, or if you are a seasoned guide there is something in this course for everyone.
