This summer, let interpreters from Parks Canada inspire and fascinate you as you experience all that the region has to offer! 

Discover and explore the tide-pools and rainforest. Feel a fuzzy sea otter pelt. Listen to stories that are older than our ancient trees. See the land and water from a different perspective as you immerse yourself in the cultural and natural treasures of the Pacific Rim. 

NOTE: Public programs are supported through the purchase of a national park entry pass. Programs are presented in English, with special programming available in French.

The Wild Pacific Trail naturalists and other local partner organizations look forward to meeting you for walks and events at their Discovery Tent overlooking Amphitrite Lighthouse on the lighthouse Loop Trail section.

The Wild Pacific Trail is a unique outdoor classroom that offers incredible opportunities to connect people to nature. Their seasonal Discovery Tent at the lighthouse offers revolving topics for all ages.

Easy to walk, one-hour programs aim to engage both visitors and local communities. Topics range from natural to cultural history.

Small Town, Big Picture: Tofino is a three-hour orientation session that delivers the “big picture” of living in Tofino. Learn about local history and basic ecology, cross-cultural understanding, businesses and activities, festivals, host etiquette, and important civic information. This is a great way to get up-to-date local information about living and working in Tofino.

The Tofino Clayoquot Heritage Museum has restarted its historical walking tours for the summer season! 

Every Wednesday

• Tour 1: 11 AM - 12 PM
• Tour 2: 2-3 PM
• $10 per person (cash or card accepted)

Their tours cover Tofino’s historic waterfront and town, and are a great activity for tourists or residents wanting to become more familiar with Tofino.

The museum is also open daily, 10 AM - 4 PM, offering a look into Tofino's history, a great activity, especially on rainy days!

This outdoor course focuses on our coastal temperate rainforest. From the forest floor to the top of the canopy, you will explore the many interactions that make up the fabric of this iconic habitat.  Join us to discover the dynamic nature of old-growth forests!

Nuu-chah-nulth Land and Waters with ƛaʔuuk/Gisele Maria Martin

Resident guests and visitors in Tofino are invited to an introduction session with Gisele Maria Martin to learn about Indigenous Nuučaanuł/Nuu-chah-nulth Cultural Lifeways,
protocols, laws, and living teachings which protect this beautiful place, as well as early and ongoing contact, and the importance of language.

Gisele is a Cultural Lifeways Guardian, language educator, storyteller, and artist in the Tla-o-qui-aht Tribal Parks located in the ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ Ḥawiiḥ.

Join the Wild Pacific Trail Ambassador and the Ucluelet Aquarium for a first-hand discovery of plants and animals living in the intertidal zone.

This interpretive walk will educate you on the harmfulness of micro plastics on sea creatures and will give you the chance to touch a real ship wreck!

Rubber boots or sturdy footwear is highly recommended while exploring the treasures of the tides. Rocks are NOT suitable for toddlers.

Meet at the sheltered picnic area at Big Beach.

No registration is required. This is a free event, with any donations going to continued programming on the Wild Pacific Trail.
