Weaving and Macrame Workshops with Kim Leckey

Join fiber artist Kim Leckey of Sea Woven for one of her Fall weaving and/or macrame workshops. Multiple workshops will take place throughout the month of October between the communities of Tofino and Ucluelet. 

Workshop Descriptions

Crafternoons with Kim Leckey: Youth-focused craft workshops where attendees have the opportunity to learn different weaving techniques to create either driftwood wall hangings or tassel garlands. 

Cost: $90

Age: 9-13

Macra-weave Wall Hang: Try your hand at "Macra-weaving", an amazing new fiber style that combines the best of macrame and weaving! Attendees will create their own driftwood wall hanging using a number of traditional knots and weaving techniques with cotton rope and unspun wool. 

Cost: $95

Age: 13+

Weaving 101: Begin your exploration of the weaving world! Attendees will learn to warp their own loom, create different textures using various techniques, explore the use of various fibres, and leave with their own wall hanging! Guests will also get to keep the handloom and tools used in the class, allowing them to continue their weaving journey through future projects.
