Naturalist with the Wild Pacific Trail Society (WPTS) and Raincoast Education Society (RES) are available 9am to 4pm daily!

Daily Interpretive topics can be explored from the new Interpretive Centre overlooking the iconic Amphitrite Lighthouse. Learn about the Wild Pacific Trail, Ucluelet, and the array of eco-systems on the Pacific Rim. Ask about the walking trees and other unique features of rainforest, bog, intertidal or wetland ecosystems see along the Wild Pacific Trail. Birds and other wildlife abound here on the West Coast, hear about what has been seen recently. Have questions about the ocean and marine wildlife? Need trail orientation? Get tips on how to observe whales and marine mammals swimming past. The surf is in constant motion here, sweeping up-surge channels and reefs. Observe from the safety of the trail or observation deck.

Discovery Tent for 2025: Daily special guests will also appear on the lawn at the Lighthouse, end of Coast Guard Road to offer drop-in activities and talks.
Exhibits rotate exploring the plants, animals and cultures that make for a fascinating visit. Special events and possible pop-up tours launch from this location. Special guest listed under programs occur at this tent.

The Wild Pacific Trail naturalists and other local partner organizations look forward to meeting you for walks and events at their Discovery Tent overlooking Amphitrite Lighthouse on the lighthouse Loop Trail section.

The Wild Pacific Trail is a unique outdoor classroom that offers incredible opportunities to connect people to nature. Their seasonal Discovery Tent at the lighthouse offers revolving topics for all ages.

Easy to walk, one-hour programs aim to engage both visitors and local communities. Topics range from natural to cultural history. 

Learning opportunities are offered most days of the week from June until September. Stay tuned for more details - full schedule of events coming soon!

This summer, let interpreters from Parks Canada inspire and fascinate you as you experience all that the region has to offer! 

Discover and explore the tide-pools and rainforest. Feel a fuzzy sea otter pelt. Listen to stories that are older than our ancient trees. See the land and water from a different perspective as you immerse yourself in the cultural and natural treasures of the Pacific Rim. 

NOTE: Public programs are supported through the purchase of a national park entry pass. Programs are presented in English, with special programming available in French.

The Tofino Clayoquot Heritage Museum has restarted its historical walking tours for the summer season! 

Every Wednesday

• Tour 1: 11 AM - 12 PM
• Tour 2: 2-3 PM
• $10 per person (cash or card accepted)

Their tours cover Tofino’s historic waterfront and town, and are a great activity for tourists or residents wanting to become more familiar with Tofino.

The museum is also open daily, 10 AM - 4 PM, offering a look into Tofino's history, a great activity, especially on rainy days!

Though you may not always see them – plankton are out there, and some will become a feast for tiny fish or giant whales.

Come observe a plankton tow & get up close and learn more! Stop by Tofino Resort & Marina - under the red RES tent in the courtyard every Wednesday from 1- 4pm. There will be plankton samples ready for microscope observation. Experience the beauty of these fascinating creatures.

Clayoquot Action presents a Jérémy MATHIEU film

Fish farming is pushing wild salmon to the brink of extinction. The federal government has promised to remove fish farms from BC waters, but now industry is pushing back with false solutions.

Join Clayoquot Action’s fish farm watchdog program as a team of underwater cinematographers investigates an “experimental” fish farm near Tofino. What they find surprises them, and spells potential disaster for wild salmon.

This film looks at the impacts of salmon farming through the eyes of those fighting to protect wild salmon from extinction. Featuring First Nations members SkookumJohn, Keltsmaht First Nation and Joe Martin, Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, and Kwakwabalas - Chief Ernest Alfred, traditional and elected leader of the 'Na̱mg̱is First Nation, as well as scientist and best-selling author Alexandra Morton.

Don’t miss this entertaining, informative and inspiring evening, featuring Tla-o-qui-aht guest speakers and an award-winning local documentary. Everyone welcome!

Get your gumboots on and join Raincoast Education Society for a hands-on exploration of local eelgrass meadows! We’ll use a beach seine to gently catch and observe the fascinating ocean creatures that call this intertidal habitat home—everything is safely returned to the sea. Learn about local ecosystems, spot some cool critters, and see how interconnected life in the ocean really is! What we find is in-seine!

You will have the opportunity to help pull the seine up onto the beach and investigate species caught inside. Raincoast Education Society staff will teach you how to handle the animals caught with care.

These interactive opportunities are FREE, all-ages events. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join! Events will run rain or shine, and gumboots are recommended.
