Pacific Seamount Expedition 2019- Live-dive Learning Event

On June 16th scientists from Fisheries and Oceans Canada, with Ocean Networks Canada, and Nuu-chah-nulth Nations representatives Joshua Watts and Aline Carries of Uu-a-thulk (Taking Care Of) embark on an underwater expedition to further science and discovery off the coast of British Columbia.

Based on the underwater seamount discoveries in 2018, this dynamic team has come together to learn about newly discovered species. Found at depths that require remote underwater submersibles in order to study, these discoveries will help to inform conservation and management decisions of a truly unique ecosystem.

Join in from July 19th- 28th by tuning into the live-dive stream. You'll be able to follow along as the team takes this important mission underwater. Curious about how a deep sea science mission takes place or what the animals are on your screen? Ask a scientist! Experts of the project will be available to encourage your curiosities.
