'Art as Meditation: an Introduction to Indian Miniature Painting' is an insight into an art form that teaches the importance of stilling the mind through meditation and breath techniques, so that elegance and grace can be achieved through fine brushwork. The workshop will explore traditional line work practice, how to make natural paints, and lessons in developing mindfulness through an art practice.
Victoria Leader is a visual artist and yoga teacher based in Tofino, BC. Known locally for her live portrait sketches and west coast paintings, Victoria has also begun to explore Indian painting techniques, after studying with Sri Ramu Ramdev and the royal artists at Jaipur City Palace, India. She will return to Jaipur in September to continue to practice in the art of Indian Miniature Painting.
