As part of the West Coast Fibre Art Retreat, the Fibre Art Marketplace will showcase local makers at Blackrock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet on November 13th. We’re pleased to welcome Carla Davis and Monique Comeau as West Coast N.E.S.T.’s new Curriculum Developers! Carla brings hands-on outdoor program design and youth education experience, and Monique brings classroom teaching and land-based leadership with Nuuchahnulth communities. Together, they will create culturally informed, place-based lesson plans and resources drawing on community knowledge and our Story Map series. These materials will help get students outdoors, support teachers, and strengthen connections between classrooms, local culture, and the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region.

A Look Back at Our Visit From Tamagawa University Students | |
Discover how our group of 15 students from Tamagawa University in Japan explored the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region with local partners including Rainforest Education Society, Tribal Parks Allies, WildsafeBC and the Wetland Stewards. Students had the opportunity to dive into the biodiversity of the West Coast, from walking the Tonquin Trail in Tofino to the Rainforest Trail in Ucluelet and even participating in a habitat restoration project removing invasive species at Kimoto Park.
