Trees and Seas Festival

A Plastic Ocean is hosting their annual global event, Trees and Seas, and we are hosting our very own satellite event in Tofino on August 7.

The goal of this festival is to build a bridge between ocean and forest conservation, emphasizing how we are all one planet … one ecosystem … and in the end, one global community united in our effort to foster a healthier planet for all.

The main hub this year will be Patagonia’s Chiloé Island, with over 20 satellite events around the globe. Over 50,000 trees will be planted. Over 100 beach and forest cleanups. Dozens of youth workshops and panel discussions and plenty of music, art and film.

Local Event Schedule:

9 am - 11 am : Cox Bay Beach Cleanup with Surfrider - meet at North Chesterman Beach public beach entrance for coffee and snacks before the clean.

12:30 pm : Lunch and refreshments at the 4th Street Rain Garden provided by Roar and Beachside Provisions before the dig.

1 pm - 3 pm : Tree and shrub planting at the 4th Street Rain Garden behind Wick Community School

3 pm : Prizes to volunteers who make it to both events!

Remember to BYO mugs and plates for all the goodies!
