Fruit Trees 101

Fruit trees are wonderful for household food security, and can provide a bounty of delicious fresh fruit throughout the summer & fall. If you have inherited a place with some fruit trees, are thinking of planting fruit trees, or already have planted some fruit trees, but you are not sure of how to care for them, this workshop is for you! Join Connie Kuramoto & the Tofino Community Food Initiative to learn about planting, pruning, & ongoing care of fruit trees.

Topics will include selection of plants, planting techniques, care & pruning of the trees, as well as harvesting the fruit. Well planted & cared for trees will yield optimal harvests, contributing to your family's nutrition in a big way. This is a great way to have organic fruit for free after your initial investment, so come and learn how to get the most out of it.
